About

Natasha Lim (b. 2002, Singapore) is a multidisciplinary artist working across photography, materiality, and research. Her practice examines memory, perception, and transformation through experimental image-making.

She is pursuing a degree in Photography at Nanyang Technological University, with a background in fine arts. Her work often reflects an engagement with natural and built environments, integrating research and storytelling to explore personal and external landscapes.

Lim employs chemigrams, liquid emulsion, and darkroom techniques, pushing the boundaries between control and chance. Her recent projects consider self-imposed limitations and the aesthetics of failure as generative forces in her creative process. She is currently working on her graduation thesis, focusing on picturing landscapes through chemigrams.

Her work has been exhibited in international and local institutional and independent spaces.

In parallel to her practice, Lim runs Laleil Studio, an independent platform that integrates her artistic practice, spanning photography, material research, and storytelling. It serves as a space for experimentation and developing conceptual and process-driven works. Laleil Studio is currently developing workshops on alternative photographic techniques, which Lim has conducted workshops since 2023.
